Managing Diversity

The workforce is changing dramatically. These changes are having profound effects on
the way you manage your organization's human resources. To cite just a few statistics...

  1. Hispanics became the majority in California in July 2013, have been in New Mexico
for several years, will soon be in Texas.
  2. 56% of all 2013 Estrella graduates had Hispanic last names.
  3. Ethnic and racial minority populations are growing seven times faster than the white
    population.
  4. By 2020, Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics will outnumber non-Hispanic whites across
    the entire United States.
  5. By the year 2010, 75% of new workforce entrants will be minorities and women.

To attract and retain good employees, employers have to hire and motivate minorities,
women, and others who are different from past genrations in appearance, physical ability,
experience, and life-style.

The old ways of managing an Anglo "individualistic culture
workforce" simply won't work anymore.
