Being good at your job makes it possible to
keep your job. You have to do something a bit
"out-of-scope" to get promoted.

There are two problems with going above and
beyond one's job description:

_1) Superiors may consider this invading their
___territory and feel it necessary to teach you
___to respect their position.
_2) Jealous co-workers may feel a need to pull
___an "uppity" co- worker down.
