Community colleges were created by people
who knew instructional design and valued teaching.

The Maricopa Community Colleges
curriculum is behavior-based.

Learning occurs as follows...

Memorization: Can repeat facts.
Understanding: Can explain.
Application: Can do things.

Teaching is most effective when students
are taught at the
Application level. Once
able to apply skills most students will
learn to analyze, evaluate and create.

Teach as close to real-world
application as possible.

Have each student immediately apply
what they were taught.
